 | 06:23 pm - CosFest update CosFest's start time has been changed to 6:30pm. The date is the same, the event has just been moved back an hour in order to give us more prep time in the concert room before the show. Contestants will have pre-show use of the concert stage to rehearse if they wish to do so.
The timeline on the CosFest page has been updated accordingly (scroll to the bottom): http://www.pacificmediaexpo.com/info/cosplay.html
Seating will be at 6pm, and the event will begin at 6:30.
Furthermore, press & photographer policy is as follows: The first row or two of audience seating will be for press and photographers, and general spectators are behind that. Those with Press badges will be seated first, so they get first pick of that front section.
The general audience will be allowed in 10-15 minutes later. At this time, non-press photographers will be allowed into the remainder of the front area on a first-come, first-served basis if they also wish to make use of it - show your Big Shiny Camera** when you come in to gain access.
Please note that due to space constraints, we will not have a separate photo-op area.
(** "Big Shiny Camera" denotes something like a Digital SLR or other fancy camera used by serious photographers.)

 | 09:00 pm - Still time left to sign up for the CosFest masquerade event!
Seven weeks to go, and there are still plenty of open spots in CosFest! Sign up for PMX's masquerade and compete for cash prizes! And we aren't talking a dinky $25 here - we're talking a few hundred, and in cash.
Also note that CosFest is not just for anime and game costumes. We heavily encourage costumes or outfits from Asian films, TV shows, comics, pop/rock stars, EGL/EGA and fashion, as well as those with a historical or mythological basis. You can even enter something of original design. The bottom line is, if you made it and it comes from any kind of Asian source/influence, you can compete with it.
We also welcome costumes that come from a non-Asian source if said source is explicitly influenced by Pacific-Asian culture. Examples include (but are not limited to) Avatar: The Last Airbender and Kill Bill.
It doesn't matter when you made your costume/outfit; we have no "same year" creation requirements. We also don't mind if you've worn it to other events, just as long as you haven't competed with it at PMX before.
Rules and registration located here: http://www.pacificmediaexpo.com/info/cosplay.html
We'd love to have you there!
